Madonna, Drew Barrymore, Kelly Osborne and Natalie Portman are all celebrities that follow this Barre exercise regime.

This increasingly popular exercise regime incorporates the precision of Pilates with the positions, moves, grace and technique of ballet. Add to this the alignment of yoga and the strength from sports conditioning and you will have all of the aspects of a typical Barre workout. The combined elements of the different methods fuse to form a challenging and exciting workout, which stretches and sculpts the muscles whilst burning fat.

Our Adelaide Studio Barre Classes are a non-stop workout, set to the beat and phrase of high-energy dance music. It will lift the butt, tone the thighs, sculpt the arms, flatten the abs and burn fat.

What are Barre Classes …

This workout produces dramatic results that sculpt and redefine the entire body, without even being a dancer. This high-energy, low impact, total body workout contains small isometric contractions that are performed and integrated with an interval training approach that burns fat and improves cardiovascular fitness. The result is a body that is realigned, rebalanced and works harmoniously and efficiently.

Stretches are performed after each strength section of the class to ensure the muscles are re-lengthened to create a body that is strong without the added bulk of other regimes. It is a hardcore workout, which is why it gets results fast and is so popular!

Each Barre class will begin with a warm up in the centre of the room. The main bulk of the class is spent at the barre. Once the Barre exercises have been completed, the workout then moves into the centre where hand weights will be used to in conjunction with leg movement in order to increase the heart rate and stamina. Balance work is also included, as well as floor work to focus on the upper body and abdominal exercises. Final stretches are performed at the end of the sessions.

What to Bring …

Socks with sticky rubber on the bottom are to be worn. These socks can be purchased from our studio for $15. This is for your own safety and hygiene reasons. Sweat towels are supplied at our studio. Please wear something you can comfortably stretch in.
